Green Sea Turtle

The green sea turtle eats the seaweed around the reefs surounding Hawaii. Afterward they like to rest, bask and digest their food on the beaches. If they are frightened back in the sea while they're still lethargic, they run a higher risk of being food for tiger sharks. They set up ropes and signs around the turtles to keep people away. There are big fines (including jail time) for those who don't heed the warnings.

Wonderful photo, Gary, and a perfect shot for the theme. Your Hawaii trip was certainly fruitful for your themes! I'm loving seeing all of the pictures.
