Apples
This one was part of my February 12 of 12 as well. Just looking at this made me go and cut up and eat one. Gala was the apple of choice... crisp, sweet, and the skin isn't too tough. Produce number 4135, I don't know if that is universal throughout the world, but my guess it is.

Green Sea Turtle
The green sea turtle eats the seaweed around the reefs surounding Hawaii. Afterward they like to rest, bask and digest their food on the beaches. If they are frightened back in the sea while they're still lethargic, they run a higher risk of being food for tiger sharks. They set up ropes and signs around the turtles to keep people away. There are big fines (including jail time) for those who don't heed the warnings.

Cocktail
P.S.
Perhaps I should clarify... the strutting rooster causing the motion blur is the one in front of the camera, not the one behind the lens.

Beach
Reminded me a bit of Gilligan's Island. This might have been one of the locations. It was filmed on location in Hawaii. The opening scene showing the marina looks much the same today as it did back then.

Painted Church
Here is a photo of the ceiling inside the Painted Church. The Hawaiins never did anything inside, except sleep and shelter themselves from bad weather. So the Belgian monks who built the church, in order to get the locals inside, panted six large murials and the ceiling.

Sorcerer's Hat
This giant version is from one of the earliest and best of Disney's feature cartoons, The Sorcerer's Apprentice. This is taken from my mothers workplace, MGM Studios (now called Disney Hollywood Studios)

Tree of Life
Here is one view of the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. I can't say for sure that the images are carved, but they are made to give that impression.

Humpback Whale
After I missed out on two previous opportunities to capture images of Humpback whales, I got one final chance when the ship cruised along the isolated Na Pali coast. I took several shots, but as you can imagine it's not easy to capture them before they disappear beneath the waves again. This is the best shot out of 30 I had taken.

Na Pali Coast
Here's a veiw of the rugged Na Pali Coast on the island of Kaua'i. Most of this side of the island is only accessible by helicopter or boat.

Rainbow
I saw several rainbows while in Hawaii. Many more beautiful than this, but this was the best one I could capture. The ship in the photo was on a 3 month cruise... must be nice to have nothing better to do.

Jagged Wall
Here's a photo of a stone and mortar wall. The walls are usually no taller than 4 foot and they use three rows of jagged stones along the top of the wall. You can find this style of masonry throughout the Philadelphia area. The area is riddled with glacial rock. I'm sure this is the source is the stone used in these walls. The age of this wall, I'm not sure, but the road is route 1... one of the oldest roads in the US, but the houses look no older than early 20th century. The composition was inspired by the perspective in Bill Z's Fence

Vintage Cultivator
P.S.
I found out from Jack that Jimmy's pro shop is closed during the off season. I don't know when I'll have a chance to get back to see him since I've taken a position almost 2 hours away.
